Autobahn Country Club: Chicagoland’s Playground for Speed
Tucked away in Joliet, Illinois, Autobahn Country Club isn’t your average racetrack. With two distinct circuits (North and South) and a full-course layout stretching 3.56 miles, it’s got a little something for everyone, whether you prefer tight technical sections or stretching the legs of your machine on long straights.
Location Notes:
🏎 Two for One – North Circuit: 1.46 miles of technical fun. South Circuit: 2.1 miles of high-speed action. Combine them for the 3.56-mile full-course experience.
🚗 Bring Your Friends (or Enemies) – Club racing, track days, and even a kart track for some good old-fashioned grudge matches.
⚠️ It weeps – The water table is high in this area due to local construction, so even on a hot summer day, there are parts of the track that water will weep up. It’s annoying and just something to deal with.
⛺️ You can camp at the race track, though it’s more like staying in a parking lot without power or sewer, but at campground rates. 🤔 Still worth it if you like to get more sleep vs commuting to the track.
